Tomorrow (Saturday, May 18) is National Drawing Day, and Offaly is getting in on the act with two events in Birr and a third in Edenderry.

Popular Offaly-based company Glenisk has launched a pop-up store in Dublin. Called “Glenisk Upfront and Personal”, the new shop will be located at the corner of Dawson Street and Duke Street until the end of June and until then aims to demonstrate the versatility of its organic yogurt through a series of creative flavour combinations.

Kinnitty couple seek support for their 'Room to Move� campaign

Love for their sons has pushed Kinnitty couple Michael and Catherine Donogher to kick off a fundraising campaign to cover the costs of adapting their home.

Michael Donogher currently has to carry his sons Thomas (12) and Sean (11) - who have both been diagnosed with muscle-wasting disease muscular dystrophy and use wheelchairs to get around - to and from their upstairs bedrooms every morning and night.

The couple was given planning permission for plans that would allow both Thomas and Sean their own downstairs bedrooms, an accessible bathroom and living area and a carport.

A 25 year old unemployed Offaly man is one of the unlikely stars in a new ad by mobile operator Three that airs today (Friday). The new 40 second ad is due to air on RTE, TV3, 3e, Sky and E4 in time for Ireland’s World Cup qualifying matches against Sweden and Austria on March 22 and 26. Three, which is the primary sponsor of the Irish football team, plumped for using real Irish football fans instead of actors in the commercial, which is how Walsh Island’s John Molloy got involved.

Daingean teen disco tickets now available online

CU Factor comes to Edenderry

Twelve to 25 year olds in the Edenderry area are being invited to share their talents as part of a new competition in the area organised by the Credit Union. CU Factor was first organised last year in Naas, which is in the same credit union chapter as Edenderry. This year the talent competition will run two Edenderry heats in early April.
